Gold: Alchemising Pain into Power

A Chapter in Your Secret Conversation with Colour

It is fascinating how working with colours can act as a diagnostic tool, revealing exactly where you are, what energies are impacting you, and precisely which frequency you need to shift your situation.

If you read my article on Black: Embracing the Void and Transformation, you know that in mid-July 2026, I felt deeply impacted by a collective energy of grief and transformation emanating from the tourists weekly wave arriving in Agia Marina, Aegina, Greece to relax, unpack and recharge. For two weeks, I navigated the discomfort of this heaviness, trying every mantra I could think of to lift the fog.

Finally, I asked my guides to help me transmute this dense black energy and consolidate my energetic membrane, so I would no longer synchronise so intensely with the pain of others. The answer, as it often does, came through painting and colours, but not just any colour: Gold.

Gold: The Alchemical Frequency

If Black is the void, the chrysalis, and the grief, then Gold is the alchemy, the spark, and the value found within that darkness.

The ancient alchemical process aimed to discover how to transmute unrefined base metals (like lead) into noble metals (specifically gold). While this was a chemical pursuit, it remains the perfect metaphor for spiritual growth, inner expansion, wisdom, and self-transmutation. From the chrysalis of Black—with all its pain and trauma—one eventually finds their Inner Sun. Just as the sun is the centre of our solar system, this golden core is the centre of your being.

The Jungian Interpretation

Carl Jung explored this deeply in Psychology and Alchemy. He interpreted that the "Gold" sought by alchemists was not an external object, but the Realised Self. In this view:

  • Lead represents trauma, shadow, unconscious patterns, and the heavy weight of unprocessed grief.
  • Gold represents consciousness, individuation, self-acceptance, and the incorruptible truth of who you are.

Jung was not the first to link Gold to evolution. Across many traditions, gold symbolises divine light, wisdom, truth, and the sacred. It is the colour of integrity and self-sovereignty. It does not tarnish; it does not corrode. It is the part of you that remains untouched by time or circumstance.

The Golden Flame Energy: A Piercing Truth

As an energy worker, I perceive gold as having a very specific frequency signature. While definitions can vary depending on one’s own transmutation journey, to me, Gold is the light that leaves no room for shadows.

It leaves no space for blinders, no excuse for escape, and no room for self-deception. Gold does not gently encourage; it pierces. Like a warm blade cutting through the thickest fog of illusion, gold reveals what is real. It is the frequency of absolute self-honesty. When you stand in gold, you cannot lie to yourself about who you are, what you feel, or where you are going. It is the reflection of the Self so clear and so bright that it burns away the bullshit.

Let’s be brutally honest: just wearing or painting your entire home in gold won’t make you rich. The "bling-bling" fashion draws eyes to you, but it does not help you direct your eyes within you to find who you are. Worse, it often becomes just another mask you are putting on.

Gold is not a status symbol you put on to impress others if you really want to work with it. In addition, many of these commercial "gold" colours are not true gold; therefore, they won’t carry the property of pure gold. Like every colour, if you do not intentionally connect to its frequency, it is just decoration. And decoration changes nothing.

To access the medicine of gold, you must be willing to stop hiding. You must be ready to let that warm blade cut through your own excuses. If you are willing, then I have prepared a couple of practices you can play with below.

When to Work with the Golden Frequency

Somtimes, you won't know but feel a pull toward gold, other times you might want to work with it because you identified something about yourself and don't want to play with a specific pattern any longer. For expample:

  • You feel frequently manipulated, used or unable to see people’s true intentions until it is too late.
  • You love people for their potential rather than who they are today, often ending up deeply disappointed.
  • You put others on pedestals, only to feel crushed when they reveal their humanity.
  • You keep acting and deciding your life based on what you think is expected of you, others' truth or social statements.
  • You struggle with self-honesty, finding yourself making excuses for behaviours or situations that deep down you know are not aligned.

Why Do We Ignore the Truth?

Working with Gold helps you clear the distortion. It helps you understand what you need or crave that leads you to ignore your intuition, deny the truth you sense, or play games with yourself. Many beliefs can pollute our perception, often rooted in survival:

  • The Child’s Excuse: Perhaps you grew up with a toxic parent. The child you were, loving unconditionally, had to invent reasons or excuses for that mistreatment just to survive. You kept that habit of making excuses alive until now, applying it to partners, friends, and bosses.
  • The Projection of Lack: Perhaps you are craving a specific type of love and desperately project it onto every relationship, trying to find it "out there" when you actually need to find it within yourself. (No judgment here; I’ve been there, and I got the t-shirt).
  • The Confidence Gap: Maybe your self-confidence is far below sea level, making anyone else look much brighter, smarter, cooler, or prettier than the image you hold of yourself.
  • The Nervous System Bypass: Perhaps it is something else entirely driving you to bypass your intuition, ignoring the subtle warnings of your senses or nervous system.

The Golden Clarity Working with Gold, you can start to see exactly where you need healing, recalibrating, and nurturing. Caring for these wounds allows you to finally see people exactly as they are—no more, no less. This clarity empowers you to make sovereign decisions about who belongs in your space. It helps you see yourself with the same ruthless honesty, fostering a self-worth that is unshakeable.

Practices to Connect with the Golden Frequency

Inviting the alchemical spark into your everyday reality.

Connecting with the frequency of Gold is not about grand gestures or expensive displays; it is about intentional presence. It is the quiet decision to stop hiding and start seeing. Whether you prefer stillness, movement, or mental clarity, the following three practices are designed to help you tap into this piercing, purifying light at your own pace.

You do not need to do them all at once. Listen to what calls to you today. Perhaps you need the stillness of meditation, the flow of creative expression, or the clarity of a mental shift in your relationships. Trust your intuition—Gold will meet you exactly where you are ready to be met.

COMING SOON

I'm either recording or editing this series of meditations, but it will be published soon.

1. The "Golden Mirror" Meditation (Guided Audio)

If you feel ready to invoke the "piercing" truth of gold and discover what your inner truth has to share with you, I have recorded a dedicated guided meditation for you.

A Note on Pace and Patience
Reaching your truth sometimes takes time. I remember seeking it desperately, yet simultaneously preventing it from arriving because, emotionally, I was not quite ready yet. Often, an underlying need can act as a veil, preventing us from seeing clearly. Perhaps it is a deep need to feel loved, to have a friend, to feel safe, to feel supported, or simply not to feel alone.

Please know: all these needs are valid. They are legitimate human desires, and it is entirely natural that they might sometimes cloud your perceptions while they remain unmet.

When this happens, trust that your inner truth will not come as a slap in the face. It will not overwhelm you. Instead, your inner truth will breadcrumb you toward clarity. It will gently share exactly how to heal, how to empower yourself, and how to grow the confidence or emotional stability you need to eventually connect with the pure truth you are seeking.

This meditation is designed to meet you exactly where you are, offering that golden light not as a weapon, but as a gentle guide along the path.

2. Creative Alchemy (The Artist’s Way)

As my own guides showed me, painting is a direct conduit for this energy. Here, your hands take the lead, bypassing the analytical mind to let the gold frequency move through you.

Gathering Your Materials

You will need a piece of black paper, or a canvas with black paint to create your base. For the gold, use a gold marker, pencil, acrylic paint, or even images of gold collected from magazines.

Listen to Your Intuition: As you gather your materials, you might feel called to add other elements—just as I felt compelled to add seashells and feathers to The Raw Women. If so, do not judge yourself; simply collect what calls to you. You may or may not use them, but trust the impulse.

A Note on Cost: Material does not need to be expensive to work. The frequency is in your intention, not the price tag. The cheapest gold marker works just as powerfully as genuine gold foil.

Creating a Sacred Space

Choose a place where you feel comfortable, safe, and happy. Ideally, be alone, or at least in a space where you can create your own bubble. If you are in a crowded place: Put on headphones, ask not to be disturbed, and focus on your breath to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with yourself.

Your Stance

You can work seated or standing. I personally prefer standing in front of my easel (or taping paper to a wall/window) because my entire body gets into motion when I draw. I can bounce from one foot to another, step back, get closer, even dance. This helps the energy flow through my body and activates every cell with what is birthing on the paper.

Your Comfort

However, some people feel more comfortable cuddled in a blanket with a sketchpad, seated at a table, or stretching out on the grass. All of these are perfectly valid; your way is the best way for you. You can always try the others later just to feel the difference, but start where you feel most held.

The Ritual

Grounding:

Once you feel ready, ground your feet. Send your mind and your thinking process on holiday. Take a few deep inhales and exhales.

Connecting with the Void:
  • If working with a canvas, start by creating a black background. Give it texture or make it smooth, whatever feels right.
  • If working with black paper, simply place your hand on the surface for a minute.
  • In both cases, allow yourself to feel the void. State aloud: "Show me the truth that is already there. Show me what I can handle. And should I need it, give me the strength and guidance to be strong enough to embrace the truth. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
The Dance of Gold:

You can work in silence or play music. The most important rule now is not to decide what to draw. Let it come to you. Let your hand move (scribbles, lines, circles) just let your hand dance, sprinkling gold in its touches or brushstrokes. Let the image reveal itself. It might end up fully abstract, or you might see a shape emerging that guides your hand into details.

Receiving Insights:

Let your mind wander. Words or images might take shape in your consciousness; let them flow without grasping.

Closing the Session:

By the end of the drawing, which does not need to be perfect, you will have moved your own energy, tapping directly into the gold frequency. You might feel relaxed, energised, or ready for a nap. You might have experienced sudden insights or ended up with a figurative creation (like The Raw Women) that leads you to ponder something specific.

Integration: A Living Companion

If you have time, let your hand move from your creation to your journal. Write about what you felt or what your creation inspires. Do not switch on your analytic mind yet. Let your emotions and senses speak first so they can present their gifts.

Finally, for a couple of days, weeks, or months, display your creation in your home or save it as a screensaver on your phone. Let the insights and the secret language of your art continue to feed your inner journey to truth long after the paint has dried.

You might find yourself wanting to add some touches every now and then. If so, do it, but only if it is not the perfectionist in you or your analytical mind speaking. Trust the impulse if it feels like a gentle nudge rather than a criticism.

The fun thing with images is that they can become either:

  • A Companion: Helping your mind remember what you felt or thought during your creative process.
  • A Beacon: Helping you tune back into the specific frequency you created for yourself while drawing or painting.

In this way, your art becomes an energetic inner medicine that supports your journey. The changes might be subtle; the truth may be sprinkled over time. But you will have started the process. That act alone is the signal you needed to give to yourself, to your mind, your soul, your emotions, and your body, so that your entire being can work toward your truth, whether you are consciously thinking about it or not.
