These earrings are more than just an accessory; they are a conversation starter and a personal talisman. Crafted in warm rose gold, the setting cradles a deep, reflective hematite eye, a modern reinterpretation of the ancient Greek Mati.

While traditional amulets use blue glass to deflect envy, our choice of hematite adds a grounding twist. Known for its protective and stabilising properties, hematite acts as a mirror, reminding us to stay humble in success and grounded in our values. At just 3 cm in length, they offer a graceful drape that catches the light (and the gaze) without overwhelming your look.

As explored in our article “The Greek Eye (Mati): Meaning, History & Modern Wisdom”, the Mati is no longer just about fear; it’s a reminder to embody humility, generosity, and compassion. Wear these as a promise to yourself to navigate the world with a protected and open heart.

Handcrafted

Each pair of earring is handmade with love and care in my Atelier in Agia Marina, Aegina, Greece. I select the beads and material with intention and attention.

While your pair of earring will resemble the photographs, it will bear its own distinct natural signature, thanks to the uniqueness of each beads structure, especially if it is made of wood, natural stones, or ceramics.

I source at least 95% of the components of my creations from a Greek supplier who has four factories in Greece and one in Asia. This choice is to support local and regional production who are making ecoconscious efforts and keep crafts alive. It is also to reduce the carbon footprint of each creations.

My work is often supervised by Marketing (the black cat in squatting my workbench in the picture below). She even check the packaging process to make sure I don't forget the organza pouch.
