Agate is a gentle and yet potent stone to get you back to your flow and tap into your soul's journey while grounding deep.

This discreet and often ignored stone is quite abundant on Earth. It is also one of the stone that can easily be coloured. Actually don't be fooled by the image cover of this article. Deep blue agates are often coloured stones, like the vibrant pink, oranges and other bright colours.

In its natural form, you will find white, grey, light blue, pale pink, soft green, and brown agate. You will also find more intricate ones when agate melted with another stone. In this article, I will focus on the natural and simple agate.

ELECTROPLATED DRUZY AGATE

You will find a few Electropated Druzy Agate model on my shop. As a stone lover, I was confused about what they were and wanted to explore more before connecting them to agate’s properties.

Are Electroplated Druzy Agate real stone?

Yes, and no. They are natural agate that have been enhanced with colours and coating or both to obtain a specific texture or colour. So when you see vibrant or metalic iridescent colours, they are likely to be coloured.

Is colouring Agate a new trend?

Nope, it seems that Romans already had fun colouring Agates. The Roman author, naturalist and scientist Pliny The Elder already hinted at gemstone colouring and enhancement, so it is far from new (source mindat.org).

Do the Electroplated Druzy Agate have the same properties than natural Agate?

I must admit the debate is still open. Some are saying that the metalic layer used to plate the agate prevents the stone from emanating its vibration. Others are saying the exact opposit by alleging that the metal enhance the emanation of the stone.
